I just received my wrap kit, where do I start?

Stay calm! It is very exciting to update up the looks of your machine, however, the proper preparations must be taken to insure a good install. First, remove your kit from the box and allow it lay flat and return to room temperature for 12-24 hours. Be sure that all of the correct pieces are there and nothing is damaged. (Once you have started install or the paper backing has been cut, we will NOT send you new/replacement pieces free of charge.) If you do find that there is damage or a missing piece, take two photos of the untouched kit; one of the missing or damaged piece and one of the kit in its entirety. The next step would be to send the photos to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your order information. If this process is not followed to start the damage claim we WILL NOT replace pieces free of charge. Be sure your machine is clean, prepped and dry. It’s also important to review our in depth Installation Guide

My kit arrived with wrinkles or creases or random indentations making the product appear to be damaged or cut more than once.

Due to the shipping process, your kit may arrive with some wrinkles or creases. Don't worry, this is common and your kit is not damaged. A majority of the perceived damage is actually in the backing paper which makes it seem as if the vinyl is somewhat damaged. The vinyl itself is not damaged and will install without incident. Once the heat is used during the installation process, these wrinkles and creases will disappear since they are not in the vinyl itself, but the backing paper. If there are any actual cuts through the center of your graphic, please give us a call immediately and we will address the situation on a case by case basis.

In some instances, your kit will arrive with surface indentions from the perforated backing paper. This is also normal and more prevalent in colder temperatures and climates. After installation, (very carefully) use a heat gun, preferred over a hair dryer, in a general sweeping motion over the affected areas to raise the temperature of the vinyl to about 125F which should make the imperfections disappear. Please refer to the letter below from the Senior Technologist-Technical Service professional from 3M.

"Vinyl is a very soft material. When it is formed it takes on a “memory”. That memory remembers the surface gloss, size and shape of the original material. Because it is soft the material can get an impression when another item is pressed against it. Typically, the memory will start correcting that impression as soon as the offending pressure is removed. At room temperature, this process can take a couple of weeks. After installation, if you use a hair dryer or heat gun (very carefully) to raise the temperature to about 125F the re-glossing process will speed up greatly." -- Mark A.
